Union Canal Terminus
and Museum - Edinburgh, Scotland (2001-2002)
Conceptual project
for the design of a building celebrating the end of the Union Canal in
the heart of Edinburgh.
Although abandoned
since the invention of the steam engine, the Union canal is going through
a transformation to provide for leisure craft replacing it's entirely
industrial past. The canal runs from Edinburgh to Glasgow with a connection
at Falkirk to the Forth & Clyde canal via the acclaimed Falkirk Wheel
which has replaced the many locks that once existed here.
