House in Prosilio
- Mani, Greece (2004)
This sloping
site is perched high above Kardamyli and is orientated towards the
sea. The brief was to provide a flexible house with 3-4 bedrooms which
could perhaps be rented out during the summer months.
An enclosed,
planted courtyard has been created at the entrance and an open courtyard
to the south side and towards the views. The footprint of the house
is S-shaped with two separate stone built volumes connected by a
light timber and glass construction which acts as the entrance and
the connection between the two courtyards. There are three bedrooms
located on the lower level, each of which overlooks an olive grove.
The master bedroom is located on the upper level with it's own semi-enclosed
courtyard.
